Upon your death, incapacitation, or otherwise, your Recipient will initiate a request in the app, which will begin the inheritance process.

Casa initiates a sequence of notifications to the original vault owner to check if they are truly inactive. Stressful death verifications or expensive court orders are not required.

After the waiting period, the vault transfers to the Recipient. Our advisors will provide them with all the guidance they need to continue your legacy.

It’s important to have a clear, secure inheritance plan for your bitcoin and other digital assets. Because these assets are secured with private keys, access to those keys has to be considered when arranging a crypto inheritance plan. Casa helps you secure your assets in the meantime and share inheritance access to your vaults.
All assets held with Casa vaults are eligible for Casa Inheritance. Casa members can store bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), USD Coin (USDC) and Tether (USDT) in their vaults. As we continue to monitor broader innovation in the crypto space, we will prioritize assets and protocols that meet our security standards.
Crypto inheritance plans are included with all Casa memberships, and you can pay with either fiat currency or bitcoin. To get started, contact us.
It’s best to include Casa in conjunction with an overall estate plan that includes your non-crypto assets. That way, your last wishes are well-defined. To get started with creating an estate plan, we recommend discussing your intentions with an estate planning attorney in your jurisdiction.
Casa Inheritance with Enhanced Verification is an advanced security feature available to Casa Private Clients who reside in the U.S. In this process, both you and your Recipient provide valid government-issued IDs at setup. Later, to proceed with a transfer, the Recipient must provide a valid death certificate. This eliminates the six-month waiting period in favor of manual verification from the Casa team.
